The Vices

Sally O’Neal’s Pizza Hotline

Sally O’Neal’s Pizza Hotline is a family owned and operated business. They’ve been in South Tampa since 1985. According to their website, they buy fresh baker’s yeast and high-gluten flour for their dough and buy fresh vegetables from the Farmer’s Market. They also make their own sauces, marinades and salad dressings and you can tell!

I was introduced to Sally O’Neal’s Pizza by my mother. Her nail shop, Sanaca [Sah-Nah-Kah] Nails, is located right across the street. She used to bring home boxes of leftover slices from work.

One day, I got to have my first fresh out of the oven slice and I was done for life. One of my favorite pizzas is their Sauceless Pizza.

Let’s take a closer look, shall we? DAMN!

The dough is brushed with garlic and oil and the toppings consists of fresh Italian sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms and a healthy serving of fresh cheese- I’m talking pizza commercial quality cheesiness.

A bit too late to act like a lady.

Sally’s also offers calzones, lasagna, pasta, chicken prosciutto parmesan, spaghetti, meatballs, subs, dessert and BREAKFAST PIZZA!!!! Cue the memories of those days in my elementary cafeteria but with wayyy better pizza. I don’t think you can legally call what they served back then pizza. Sacrilege.

This is me dabbing off the pepperoni oil with the crust. =] Waste not, want not.

I know this is a bit misleading because it clearly isn’t in New York, but I needed to shoot this sweater while I shoved a slice or five in my face.

Sweater is from NastyGal.
