Cafe Hey [Now]
When I used to live in Downtown Tampa, one of my favorite spots to go eat was Cafe Hey. I usually walked around the corner to Oceanic Market and grabbed some Asian treats while I waited for my Rick Ross sandwich and Vietnamese coffee to be made. I didn’t fulfill the “Chopsticks” part this time around but I did take some photos by the new mural painted on the side of the building. The mural painted is more than a pretty picture; it’s a story and a history. Cafe Hey and Oceanic Market are in a 105 year old building occupied by the same family since the 1980’s. The Florida Department of Transportation plans to bulldoze it in order to expand I-275. To read more about it please see the article I came across on TampaBay.com Thanks to my many friends who shared it on Facebook.
On a lighter note, I decided to take some photos next to this beautiful piece of neighborhood art.
I paired a long sleeved pink crop top from Forever21 with a perforated white skirt from LuLu’s. Heels are Steve Madden.
Matthew and I parked on the side of building, ran over to snap some quick pics and run back. I threw my heels in the trunk before I drove off. Matt is quick with the shutter.
