Anise Spirit Dinner: Grand Marnier
I can’t believe we’ve come to this and in such a short amount of time. Anise Global Gastrobar had its last spirit dinner of the year last night. Grand Marnier was the star of the show. I looked forward to this dinner because Grand Marnier has a very special place in my heart. My first job after graduating college was doing promotional work as a brand amabassador. One of the many brands I got to work for was Grand Marnier. They were always so much fun!
Let’s take a look at some yesteryear photos, shall we…
All the girls had to wear red wigs. You definitely couldn’t miss us if you tried. We gave out shots of GrandMa in test tubes and gave out little trinkets if you bought a drink.
THIS was a super fun event. I think it was at Shephard’s Clearwater Beach Resort. We had branded towels, beach balls, sunglasses…. me with long hair.
So back to last night. These were the featured spirits.
Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge. A blend of premium cognacs and wild tropical oranges from the Caribbean. It smells amazing. I remember coming home with the scent of GrandMa on my hands from pouring so many drinks and I wasn’t mad about it.
What’s that?! A leather Anise flask!!!! A little something is in the works. Pretty soon you’ll be able to have one of your own. Maybe you’ll fill yours up with some GrandMa.
The beautiful table settings.
And the beautiful ceiling.
There she goes again. Such a beauty.
The Welcome cocktail.

Dessert was a triple threat!
Black and Bleu
Locally sourced Bleu cheese tart [cheese is from Winter Haven], Grand Marnier poached pear and dark chocolate and pecan truffle in a candied orange peel nest.
The gift bags were not lacking. You can catch a glimpse of mini GrandMa bottles!!!
There were minis of Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge, Grand Marnier Raspberry Peach, Grand Marnier and berry marmalade and Grand Marnier CIGARS!!!!
A bottle of this lovely lovely 100 year old Cognac XO was gifted to Anise and we all finished the night with a tasting.
If you remember when we started this year’s journey of spirit dinners, I mentioned that my mother is not a drinker. She took joy in saying “No.” This is her sipping some of that 100 year. MISSION COMPLETED.
Special thanks to the lovely friends over at Grand Marnier for working with the Anise Family and helping us have such a wonderful evening. Cheers!
Missed all the spirit dinners for whatever excuse you’re currently thinking of? We are starting up our Cocktail Academy! Keep an eye out! Until then, here are some
